He is born in Osorno, Chile, December, 1944.
Because the poor income of his family, he should work
since he was a very young boy. He carried out differents labours:
shoe shiner boy, fruit street seller, country hard work etc. etc.
But, in spite of all his economic difficulties,
painting
was for him an every day vital neccessity.
Painting was his spiritual refuge,
abandon it,
it should has been as not be alive.
When he was sixteen years old,
he start working as a truck driver.
For four years he travelled throughout Chile.
By this time,he also works very hard in painting the
country sight seeings and every thing that call his
artistic interest,
artworks he sold along the road.
Carlos Jaramillo is, in an ample sense, a self taught painter.
His artistic intuition and the deep love he felt
for the painting were his true and only guides.
In 1966 he goes to live to the Easter Island , where he finally
finds
peace and quietness to devote himself
completely to his art.
He opens there a workshop of art. He painted a large number
of excellents artworks related to the life and people of the island.
He comes back to the Continental Chile after four years.
Carlos Jaramillo is not a painter
of large exhibitions.
He works on silent,
but
his name and his signature have been
reaching a great prestige.
He is a painter of a classic elegance and beauty.
