Born in Santiago , Chile, July, 2, 1938.
He studied Art in the University of Chile Fine Art School.
He graduated as Teacher of Plastic Arts with mention in Painting .
He has worked as Professor of Art in differents High Schools.
He also has taught
in the University of Chile in Concepción,
and in the Santiago University ,in Santiago, Chile.
Victor Carvacho, very well known chilean Art Critic ,
writes about his painting:
" Pedro Retamal's painting have sufficient worth like being considered in a preponderant place in our artistic encounter.
It seems that he paints like playing,
applying the color in infinite shades
with superb masterly.
His works are magnificent messages of colors.
It beats in them a mysterious accent of
calm and silence,
that it gives a great and unique value to his art."

in the cities of Concepción, Los Angeles and Chillán (Chile).
1986- University of Talca-Chile, "10 years of Paintings"
1988- University of La Serena- Hall of Art.
In 1981 he takes part in two joined Exhibitions in the United States of America: in The American University, Washington,
and in Columbia University , New York.
