Chilean contemporaneus watercolorist painter.
Born in Port Montt, in August of 1944
He enjoys great prestige in Chile as abroad.
His artistic quality has been officially rewarded two times
being
declared by the respective city Halls:
"Outstanding Son" of the cities of Port Montt and of Quilpué.
He graduated as Fine Arts Teacher at the University of Chile.
Subsequently he obtains also the title of journalist.
In the city of Puerto Montt (south of Chile),
he performed like Director of the Regional Museum of Art, (Museum Diego Rivera) and as Director of the Department of Arts of the University of Chile.
In the eighties, he moved to Viña del Mar, where he founded
the Globe Press Agency in Valparaíso, being its first Director.
At the same time,he continued showing his paintings in a regular
way so much in the fifth region, as in the south of the country.
PRIZES:
Along his vast artistic career,he has been deserving of innumerable prizes, so much in official expositions, as in diverse artistic contests inside the country, among which the following are emphasized:
1963: Prize offered by the University of Chile, Department of Temuco. -or-
1964: First prize in contest of art organized by the Catholic University of Santiago. -or-
1966: First prize in the Exhibition of the students of Fine Arts of the University of Chile,Santiago.-o-
1967: Prize in the exposition of the Eighth Official Parlor of Autumn of the city Hall of Valparaíso.
Medal in the exhibition of the Fourth Official Parlor of Winter, organized by the Catholic University. -or-
: Prize President of the Republic, Third Official Parlor of Winter.
1968: Silver medal and diploma "National Squad and Naval Squad" in the National Exhibition of the Sea, 150 Anniversary of the Chilean Naval squad in Valparaíso. -or-
1969: First prize "Presidency of the Republic" in the official exhibition of Winter, organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Valparaíso.-o-
1982-1983: Regional prize of Art, offered by the Department of
Cultural relations of Valparaíso
